Alabama 3 do not come from Alabama. They hail from Brixton, London, where they formed in 1995. Noted for their ironic humour, larger-than-life personas and outrageous stage performances, they created their unique sound by combining American roots music styles such as blues, country and gospel with the dance and acid-house music that was huge in Britain at the time. With this line up they bring a whole new dimension to the songs made famous by Alabama 3. This isn’t acid house music, this is country/gospel/delta blues, but played with a rhythm you’ve still got to dance to. By performing in this stripped down acoustic way the band’s aim was to show the songs in a format reminiscent of the people that have been their inspiration, chiefly the old Delta Blues players like Fred MacDowell and Bukka White.

Little Triggers are one of those bands who fit firmly into rock n’ roll tradition. Having earned a name for themselves as one of Liverpool’s more brazen outfits, the quartet have cultivated a signature sound which combines indelible melodic hooks with tongue-in-cheek lyricism. Yet beneath all this it has always been clear that Little Triggers are a band with the capacity for sincere poetic reflection. "Rubian came together over a mutual love for creating genre blurring music. Taking influences from the Indie scene mixed with flashes of melodic Pop and deep visceral Rock roots. 21-04-2017 06:00
    The Lemon Tree
20 years and still standing, standing on the edge, on the point of no return. So where to next, when the end to everything is so inevitable? None of us are dead, which has surprised us more than it has you, especially at the end of 2016, a year that swallowed us musicians whole. It’s been 20 years since we released our first baby –Exile On Coldharbour Lane and we’ve just delivered our 13th album –Blues.

    13-05-2017 18:00
    The Record Factory
In a busy world you probably didn’t notice that The Ordinary Boys had gone anywhere. Nevermind, we’re back(!). Our new record ‘Real Life’ was released in October 2016 through Republic of
Music. We are back to the original line-up from our debut album Over The Counter Culture, plus the addition of Louis Jones from celebrated power-pop band Spectrals. I met Louis stage-diving at a Cribs gig when Spectrals were supporting and knew immediately that I wanted him to be my new best friend/collaborator.
I had been song-writing with John Newman and Example and had a number one with Heart Skips A Beat for Olly Murs, but hanging out with Louis, all we wanted to talk about were the punk and hardcore bands that had made us pick up guitars and form bands in the first place.
Admittedly, The Ordinary Boys had wandered pretty far from the sound, energy and ethos that had garnered respect for our debut and early live-shows and had earned us our still-loyal fan-base. So… I made Spinal Tap-esque phone calls to bassist James Gregory and drummer Charlie Stanley. After promising several times that it wouldn’t sound anything like the questionable third album, we met for some beersand started rehearsing. We were 15 again.
We have been in the studio with Rory Atwell (the Vaccines, Veronica Falls) and MJ (of Hookworms) this past year and Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Lower Than Atlantis) is on mixing duties. We think we have made a really special, exciting record. One that has been fuelled by reunited childhood friendships, rediscovery of the records that shaped us, and the drive to create something undeniably great.

When you mention “LEGENDS” in the music industry, you have to mention “The Sugarhill Gang”. HIP HOPS first superstars and pioneers. The Sugarhill Gang made history in 1979 with their debut 12” Rap Single “Rappers Delight”!! Their song “Rappers Delight” was the first commercial rap record ever made and later went on to become the largest selling 12” single of all time with over Million Records sold!!

Niko, is an 18 year old African American rapper who is now based in Scotland. He has moved from New York to Uganda to Edinburgh gradually building his fan base on a global scale and using his life experiences in these cultural and varied locations to inspire his musical ambitions. Thinking solely about his lyrics, whether they are humorous, heartfelt or tough, he uses his song writing abilities and works tirelessly with our senior producers at Eyeangle to create a perfect blend of hip-hop, trap and soul.

Taking influence from a variety of artists, Niko’s sound is constantly developing and evolving. Listening to his debut single, “First Class” you can hear the melodic influence from the likes of Drake and some lyrical wit and cleverness that MF Doom would be proud of.

  • The Smiths UTD, The Roly Mo, The Cairds

The Smiths UTD is a Lincoln-based The Smiths tribute act. The classic four-piece Smiths lineup is paid homage to by four Smiths-mad lads from the flatlands! All the classic hits and more.

Gig review Robin 2 Bilston 29th July 2016
"The Smiths UTD were great value and their set an excellent choice. Ask, Shoplifters of the World, What Difference Does it Make? The hits kept on coming and the crowd responded as they edged further and further forward onto the dance floor. They sounded ace and it continued throughout until they brought the house down with renditions of This Charming Man and There is a Light That Never Goes Out. The crowd lapped it up like the cat that really had got the cream ... we were UTD in our love for a bit of nostalgia by the time the three‐and‐a‐half‐hour bumper sing‐off sadly drew to a close."

  • Meadowlark Plus Supports

Delicate, emotional, yet powerful songs, delivered beautifully from the minds of two incredible songwriters. Meadowlark are nothing short of outstanding. Spine tingling live performances, not to be missed! Meadowlarks debut single ‘Eyes Wide’ in 2015 was added to BBC Radio 1’s Introducing playlist, XFM’s evening playlist and featured on Hype Machine’s Top 20. This lead to sessions on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show, playing Glastonbury’s Introducing stage, as well as the Great Escape, MAMA festival in Paris, Dot to Dot (to name but a few!) This song also appeared on episodes of Vampire Diaries and Made in Chelsea. In 2016 Meadowlark were embraced into the UK touring circuit to support the release of their 2nd EP ‘Paraffin’, and then later with their incredibly well received most recent single ‘Headlights’. Alongside this the band had another successful festival season which we are excited to build upon in 2017. Their summer Bushstock performance received a glowing review from Popped Music who said “their vocals never ever miss a note and you could hear a pin drop”. With their debut album set for release later this year through Believe Records campaign, 2017 is already shaping up to be the best yet for Meadowlark.

Mickey 9s crash land their intergalactic funk to the Òran Mór.
They are defined by their driving bass rhythms, funky guitar licks, four-to-the-floor pounding beats and satirically potent lyrics.

They have always done things in their own, irreverent way. The last few years have seen the band release a series of popular music videos, hilarious comic strips protesting against Thatcher, Bono, and all things evil, and regularly blowing the minds of unsuspecting gig punters all over the UK.

  • Alabama 3 (Acoustic & Unplugged)

    20-10-2017 18:00
    Beat Generator Live ! Dundee

Having been cast out, blacklisted, rejected and ejected from gentlemen's clubs far and wide, five dejected cast asides joined forces in what was to be their own celebration of commonality.Purveyors of music that meanders from sea soaked waltz to Italian tarantella, from Brassy funeral march-esque lament to weep along Klezmar knees up, from chain gang holler to rag time finger snap. Skipping through the dark side of anything that makes you want to dance, steeped in melodrama and usually with not a small amount of tongue in cheek. The Eskies have brought this unique brand of folk noir/gypsy jazz/sea shanty and swaggering stage spectacle to ballrooms and booze houses far and wide, sullying soirees and lowering inhibitions of get togethers and social occasions wherever they have ventured.Their debut album 'After The Sherry Went Round' is in shops now and is also available for download from iTunes
